Tissue Bank Manitoba

A patient in a hospital bed and a health-care provider link their hands together to form a heart shape.

At Tissue Bank Manitoba, we work to save and heal peoples’ lives through the gift of tissue donation. We do this by helping Manitobans donate to other people in the province, across Canada and around the world.

For every person or family who decides to share life through tissue donation, as many as 100 peoples’ lives can be saved or enhanced. We can facilitate a donation up to 24 hours after time of death.

If you want to give the gift of tissue donation, please register online at the Donor Registry. It will only take a couple of minutes and when you register, your decision to donate will always be available to the medical team and your family.

Tissue donations can also come from living donors. Pregnant women who plan to have a Caesarean section can donate birth tissue from placentas and umbilical cords.
